When people talk about affairs, they usually mean secret texts, late-night meetups, mysterious credit card purchases, or suspicious work trips. But as technology evolves, so do the ways people can be unfaithful.
According to TikToker Mika (@miiiika), one woman’s marriage fell apart not because of another person, but because of an AI girlfriend.
Mika has a client who was married to her husband for about four years. The couple was a great match early on. They were both in the military and went to a brewery together all the time.
They made their own beer at home and by all accounts, were just a young, fun couple who enjoyed spending time with each other.
However, about three years into their marriage, his behavior started to change. He was now working the night shift and was constantly tired from work. He didn’t want to go out with her on the weekends like he used to.
He seemed far less engaged in the relationship than he had been before. She was confused by the sudden change and couldn’t figure out what was going on with him.
“During the first three years of their marriage, he was just like a very attentive guy, and she was having health issues, and he really showed up for her,” said Mika.
Mika’s client decided to schedule a doctor’s appointment for her husband out of concern that something was wrong with his health.
After a lot of reflection, she finally came to the troubling conclusion that he had developed a serious drinking problem, which would explain why he was so sleepy and was never motivated to do anything.

Ultimately, the strain on their relationship led the pair to split up. She moved out for a couple of months. When she returned three months later to pick up the rest of her belongings, she made a discovery that left her stunned.
Her ex was sleeping on the bed, and his phone happened to be unlocked. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she couldn’t help but glance at the glowing screen.
It turned out that he had been having an affair with an AI girl for the past year. The conversations reportedly included emotional exchanges that suggested a deep bond.
While digital companionship and AI chatbots have grown increasingly popular in recent years, stories like this are raising questions about how technology is affecting human relationships and redefining what counts as cheating.
AI tools can be harmless outlets for companionship, creativity, or stress relief, but the lines between casual usage and emotional connection can blur quickly, as they likely did with Mika’s client’s ex-husband. In the age of artificial intelligence, even a chatbot could become a romantic rival.
