After TikToker Lizzy (@lizzyaklein) broke up with her ex-husband, he eventually went back to his home state once he accepted that she was really divorcing him.
He left some of his stuff behind in the storage unit that Lizzy was paying for. Some of his belongings were also at her parents’ house because they had been staying there for a couple of months before the divorce.
When Lizzy initially told her ex-husband that she wanted a divorce, he refused. So, she left and stayed in an Airbnb until she found an apartment.
She didn’t tell anyone her new address so that she could live safely. Her ex-husband sent her lengthy emails after he went back home to try to get her to respond.
“One of the main things he kept saying was, ‘I’m going to come back to California to get my stuff, and I need you to be with me to sort through it all,'” said Lizzy.
“I responded to him at one point, saying no, I already went in and moved all my stuff out. This is your stuff that’s left, and I’m not going to see you. I refuse.”
When they broke up, Lizzy’s family was mad at her for giving up on him so easily. For some reason, they were all on his side. A few months after he left, her ex-husband booked a flight to Los Angeles to get his stuff, even though she had offered to pack everything up and ship it to him.
She couldn’t get him to agree with not going to her parents’ house. Lizzy’s mother picked him up from the airport and even texted her to ask what food he would like for dinner.
Lizzy isn’t sure, but she thinks he might have stayed the night at her parents’ house. Meanwhile, her family kept texting her about how disrespectful she was being by not coming over to say goodbye to him.

“Mind you, I’m in fear for my life from this man,” said Lizzy. “I think he was in town for two or three days, and he emailed me, I don’t know how many times.”
“A lot of times, he gives my mom a gift. And what is the gift? It is a medal—a third-place medal from his pickleball tournament.”
A couple of days later, he posted a picture of their dog, Lou. He never even took care of the dog. Lizzy was the one who walked the dog and brought her to the veterinarian.
Lizzy’s sister commented on the post, saying, “She loves her daddy.” Of course, Lizzy called her sister out on it. Her sister said that she was just trying to help her not look like a jerk.
