After driving an hour to meet up with a guy for a date, TikToker Savannah (@savannah_banana93) got stood up. The guy had even told her that he took the entire day off work so they could go out to dinner.

She also purposely hadn’t eaten all day because she thought she would get to eat at the steakhouse. Everything seemed locked in.

But in the end, he totally ghosted her. To make matters worse, she discovered she had been blocked when she tried reaching out to him.

“Why are you going to let me get all dolled up, all excited to meet you, for you just to not show up?” questioned Savannah. “And then I tried calling, and you have blocked me.”

The situation left her hurt and confused. Instead of canceling, being honest, or even sending a simple text message, the man chose to disappear without warning.

In a follow-up video, she thanked everyone for their kind words and support. The outpouring of love was amazing and heartwarming.

She knows that good men do exist in the world, but it has been a real struggle trying to navigate the modern dating scene, which can feel frustrating and exhausting at times.

Her raw emotion struck a chord with people. Many TikTok users shared similar stories in the comments section, revealing that Savannah’s experience is unfortunately far from unique.

“I would be honored to take you on a date and bring flowers and everything. You seem so amazing; I’m so sorry,” stated one user.

“Sometimes, the universe has a way of saving you from a heartache you didn’t know was coming. Your person is out there. Never stop looking for them. There is someone looking for you right now, too,” wrote another.

“This happened to me, too. We’d been talking, made plans to meet, and on the day of, I even went and got my hair done and ready for it. Called once I was done, no answer, and then I never heard a thing. It’s such a horrible feeling because it’s not even the rejection; it’s the lack of basic respect and communication. Nobody deserves that. Hope you’re doing okay,” commented a third.

Being stood up says far more about the other person’s character than the person being left waiting. Anyone willing to ghost someone after making detailed plans would probably display even bigger red flags down the road.

Although the evening didn’t end with the steak dinner Savannah expected, her experience served as a reminder that basic courtesy should not be a rare quality in this day and age.

Showing up and honoring one’s commitment is still one of the simplest and best ways to demonstrate respect for someone else’s time.
