Have you ever been on a date that felt more like babysitting your least favorite drunk uncle at an event rather than getting to know a potential partner?
TikToker Dana (@danadickerson53) matched with a guy on a dating app who seemed decent at first.
They decided to meet up at a bar in Chicago, where all her friends worked. She didn’t feel like drinking, so he just had one shot of tequila on his own.
He also kept love bombing her, saying that he wanted to take her to his house in Naples and that his sister and mom would love her. Right before they left, he had another shot of tequila. By then, he was totally hammered.
The sushi restaurant they were going to for dinner was five minutes away. They got seated next to two guys, and she chatted with them for a bit, while her date yelled at the host about their seats.
They were moved to other seats at the end of the bar. He kept yelling the whole time and called the sushi chef inappropriate names.
He also stood up and loudly told jokes to the whole room that no one thought were funny. After a while, Dana had to shove him back down in his seat so he could stop being so disruptive.
He also chewed with his mouth open throughout dinner and warned Dana that she needed to be ready to compete with other girls for his attention.
She ended up talking to a girl next to her named Sophie, who was from Tampa, Florida. Once Dana’s date went to the bathroom, she began venting to Sophie about this terrible date.

Dana had already gone to the bathroom twice to try to find a back door to escape from, but was unsuccessful.
Finally, the date ended, and he paid for the meal. Her ride was already there because she had ordered an Uber the second she finished her last piece of sushi.
As they walked out of the restaurant, he stumbled and fell. He wanted to talk to her before she left, but she told him that he would never see her again.
Then, she got in the car and left. He texted her, apologizing for his behavior. Nothing in the world could ever make her date a man like that.
“Let’s normalize leaving – I totally get in the moment you’re just trying to get through it, but it’s ok to just get up and leave,” one person commented on Dana’s video.
“I think this is a common really rich guy thing. I’ve dated guys like this, and they’re so self-unaware, entitled, loud, and embarrassing. They’ve never been told no, and they’re horrible people,” someone else added.
“It’s our fault. We as women put up with too much, hoping things get better. My therapist told me, ‘things usually don’t get better.’ You should’ve told him why you were leaving and left,” a third person said.
