According to TikToker Kimmie (@kimmie.kris), you should never ditch your friends for a guy. It was a lesson she learned the hard way.
She matched with this guy on a dating app and left a music festival with her friends to go on a date with him. He had messaged her, asking to meet up at a wine bar.
When they arrived, she noted that he didn’t look like the pictures from his dating profile. Immediately, the vibes were off. Once they sat down, he started talking about how often he came to the bar. He was painting himself as a regular and claimed to be close with the bartender.
As they conversed, she noticed that he was a little nervous. He kept peppering her with questions and hardly let her get a word in.
He constantly talked over her and interrupted her. At one point, he went to the bathroom. When he returned, he was like a totally different person.
He let her ask him a bunch of questions, and he revealed a lot of details about his life. He began trashing his siblings and their partners because he didn’t like any of them. Kimmie thought his tirade about his family was in poor taste and not fitting for a first date.
By then, they were a few drinks in, so she decided to cut herself off. After his fourth trip to the bathroom within a one-hour period, he asked her about past relationships. She briefly told him about her ex-boyfriend and why the relationship didn’t work out.
Well, her date proceeded to tell her all about the girl he dated in high school/college, and that she should’ve been his wife. Then, he had a toxic on-and-off relationship with a girl in another city.
He also revealed that he had been banned from a different dating app because of claims that he was stalking a girl. Kimmie felt like she was in danger. When he went to the bathroom again, the bartender looked at her and said that he didn’t know her date.

She called an Uber, and when he returned, she told him that she needed to work early in the morning. She grabbed her purse and walked out. Later, she decided to be polite and messaged him to tell him that it wasn’t going to work out.
“I messaged him, which I honestly didn’t even have to do, but I just wanted to fully close the books, just so he knows that I know that we know it’s not happening,” Kimmie said.
“Because the last thing you want to do is give a crazy man false hope, even a sliver. They’ll take it and run with it. So, I wanted to shut it down.”
He responded back, obviously annoyed, since he thanked her for wasting his time and money. Kimmie blocked him and reported him. Fortunately, she hasn’t heard from him since.
