There is never a good time to find out you’ve been cheated on, but just before Valentine’s Day is like an extra hard slap in the face. TikToker Fabiola (@fab.rubi) discovered that her boyfriend of seven years cheated on her a week before the most romantic holiday of the year.
For some context, she was in a relationship with her high school sweetheart. They started dating during their second year in high school. Now, she has been single for three years.
The week before Valentine’s Day, they were in her room watching TV when she suddenly received a message from an old friend. She asked if Fabiola and her boyfriend were still together. Then, she revealed that she found Fabiola’s boyfriend on a dating site.
“I’m just in disbelief, and I remember I took a second to just really process everything, and then he noticed that something was wrong with me,” said Fabiola.
“I remember I was just so mad. Like, I wasn’t even sad. I was just infuriated.”
When he mentioned how excited he was for Valentine’s Day the following week, she immediately confronted him with her newfound information. Right away, he denied being on the dating apps. In that moment, she broke up with him. It was the last straw.
Finally, he admitted that he had been on a dating app a long time ago. However, the app he named was different from the one her old friend had told her about. So now, Fabiola knew he was on multiple dating sites, which made her even angrier.
After that, she told him that she never wanted to speak to him again. Since then, she hasn’t been in contact with him. It was difficult to walk away from him because they had grown up together and had a lot of history, but she knew she had no choice but to cut ties in order to move on completely.
“I knew that it was time for me to walk away, that my life was just going to not turn out the way that I wanted it to turn out, so I chose to walk away, and I have been happier since,” Fabiola concluded.

Several TikTok users praised Fabiola for not accepting less than what she deserved. They also shared their own stories about healing and letting go of past relationships that ended in betrayal.
