When it comes to dating, most people understand that not every first date is going to lead to sparks or romance. But one guy didn’t seem to have gotten the memo because he displayed some abnormal post-date behavior, according to TikToker Courtney (@abcccourtney).

Courtney has a friend in Montana who matched with a guy visiting from Texas. Without consulting her, he decided to change his flight and stay an extra night to meet her. She gave him a bunch of options for date spots.

He chose a steakhouse and showed up 30 minutes late to the date. Even so, the date went well. It lasted for about an hour and 45 minutes. She offered to split the bill at the end of the date, but he said no.

After she arrived back at home, she received a message from him through the dating app because they had not yet exchanged phone numbers.

In the message, he asked if she could split the bill after all. He claimed that he always paid due to “muscle memory,” but didn’t feel good about it this time around. He also gave further reasoning for why he wanted to split the bill.

“You seem like a nice person, but it’s weird to call someone bro and not even take it back, given they stayed back to meet you and given we went to a rather expensive place which you sort of chose,” he wrote.

“I wanted to give extra benefit of the doubt, but it didn’t seem you were genuinely interested. Anyway, good luck to you.”

He then found her phone number on LinkedIn and texted her from a fake number. The message read, “Hey there, it was nice meeting you. It was an absolute privilege to be one of your three dates for this week you go on just for kicks and a free meal.”

Later, he sent her another message, accusing her of being a bad person. After that, he sent yet another message thanking her for a lovely evening and that it was the highlight of his trip.

Finally, he sent her two paragraphs, venting about how she catfished him with her personality and that he hoped she would end up with a “psychopath” or a “meathead.”

The weirdest part was that all these messages were from different phone numbers, making it clear that he was creating new ways to contact her after being ignored.

In the comments section, TikTok users were sure that the situation had very little to do with the dinner bill itself.

“The first red flag was him pushing his flight back for someone he had never met before,” pointed out one user.

“If he paid for the date and then afterward has buyer’s remorse and wants me to give him the money back, that’s not happening. I would just block him,” commented another.

“His last message gives him away. He wanted to go home with her, and she didn’t. Nothing to do with calling him bro,” declared a third.
