One time, TikToker Angela (@angelanutt5) accidentally cooked her boyfriend’s pet ball python in the oven. She and her boyfriend at the time, Richard, had been up for days, doing drugs.

One night, they decided to buy some groceries. When they came back, she turned on the gas oven so she could make some broiled English muffins with peanut butter and jelly.

After that, she got sidetracked and started cleaning up the kitchen. All of a sudden, smoke started filling up the room. The smoke was coming out of the oven.

She opened it up and saw a baking sheet in there. She thought someone had left something on the baking sheet, but when she pulled it out, it was empty.

She took a closer look and realized that the smoke was coming from the bottom of the oven, where the broiler was. She got on all fours, peered underneath the oven, and saw something wrapped around a pipe.

“Just right then, I noticed that what I was looking at was not a pipe,” said Angela. “But it was a snake engulfed in flames, with its face looking at me. Dry heave is an understatement. I’m gagging so hard, and I’m just screaming.”

While she was screaming in panic for her boyfriend to help, she was inhaling smoke, which only made the situation worse. When he came over, he got mad at her for not checking the oven before turning it on.

Richard regularly let his snake out to slither around the house. Every time he couldn’t find the snake, he always thought it must be dead because he hadn’t seen it in weeks.

But a couple of months later, someone would open up a drawer and find the snake curled up inside.

Now that the python was cooking in the oven, Angela knew she shouldn’t have believed him this time when he said it was gone. They went into his bedroom to talk about the snake and wait for the smoke to clear.

After about 30 minutes, the smell and the smoke only seemed to get worse. Richard asked her if she had turned off the oven, and she immediately realized that she hadn’t.

“I had the oven wide open,” said Angela. “I cooked that snake to hell and back. By the time we realize what I had done, you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face. I can’t even describe the smell, except to say that’s what hell is going to smell like.”

Angela knew she couldn’t stay in the house while it was in this condition, so she wanted to get a hotel room. But her boyfriend didn’t want to leave his python. She hopped into the car and pulled out of the driveway.

Two weeks later, she came back to his house. It smelled like death and decomposition. She told him to get the snake removed from the house and that she would not take responsibility for the incident.

As the owner of the python, he was supposed to provide proper care for his pet, which he failed to do.
