Everyone hopes for a normal roommate who cleans up after themselves. Unfortunately for TikToker Liv (@livhauslife), she ended up with a roommate who seemed to come straight out of a psychological thriller.

When Liv tried to leave, this roommate chained up the gate to try to stop Liv from moving out.

Years ago, she moved into a house with a roommate named Haley. Haley had been living in the house for a couple of years before Liv moved in. From the very beginning, Haley was obsessed with her.

Within a week or two of her moving in, Haley was already posting on social media about how they were the best of friends. She even called her family to tell them about her.

When Liv first moved in, Haley would track her movements. She would constantly text her, asking where she was and when she would be home. After a couple of months of living there, Liv invited her friend Michael over.

Michael and Haley ended up hitting it off, and they went out on a couple of dates. After their second date, Haley told Liv that she was no longer allowed to hang out with Michael without her permission.

If they were ever to hang out, she needed to be there. Haley also stated that Liv could not text him after a certain time.

“I obviously told her no, and she lost it,” said Liv. “From that moment forward, she made it her life’s mission to torture me and ruin my life.”

“So, first, things started with her hiding things around the house, whether it’s communal items or my items. Then, it turned into her breaking my stuff, trashing my things, insulting me, and making fun of what I look like.”

Additionally, Haley would keep her up all night with loud music and slamming doors. A few months later, Liv started noticing that her bedroom looked different when she came home. She had a feeling that Haley was breaking into her room, so she installed a security camera.

Within a couple of days of having the security camera, she caught Haley entering her bedroom and going through her belongings. Furthermore, they fought over the thermostat. Liv liked it colder, while Haley wanted it at 85 degrees. She even cut the wire of Liv’s fan so that she couldn’t use it anymore.

The security camera footage showed that Haley had a key to Liv’s bedroom. No one knows how she obtained a key, not even the landlord.

Liv took the footage of Haley breaking her fan to the police department and filed a police report. She also gave it to the landlord and told him that she was moving out.

Haley had also been driving drunk and was involved in a hit-and-run. She had multiple DUIs and a suspended license, so she was driving illegally. She hid her car in the driveway, and Liv had requested that the landlord ask her to move her car.

Of course, Haley refused to move her car. Before she left town, Haley chained the gate and put a lock on it to prevent Liv from moving out. Liv bought bolt cutters and moved out that same day.

“Two years later, I ended up getting a call from the D.A. in California, and the state actually arrested her and had decided to press charges against Haley,” said Liv.

“So, they asked me to give a testimony as a witness and tell them about the things I had experienced with her, and she did get in a bunch of legal trouble from it.”

Now, Liv lives alone in a completely different state. She hasn’t seen or talked to Haley in years, and she wishes to keep it that way.
