Caitlyn Jenner Just Said She’s Going To Run For Governor Of California
Caitlyn Jenner currently lives in Malibu, California, and she just announced that she’s going to run for Governor of California.
She will be running against Governor Gavin Newsom for the position, and she’s hardly the first celeb in California to decide to dip a toe into politics.
Remember, Arnold Schwarzenegger served as Governor of California for the first time from November 17th, 2003, to January 3rd, 2007.
He then ran again and won a second term, serving from 2007 to 2011. Could Caitlyn be the second celeb to clinch the election?
Here’s what she had to say about her potential new career.

“California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality,” Caitlyn said in a statement she posted to her Instagram account.
“But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.”
“I have been a compassionate disrupter throughout my life, from representing the United States and winning a gold medal at the Olympics to helping advance the movement for equality,” she continued.
“As Californians, we face a now-or-never opportunity to fundamentally fix our state before it’s too late.”

Caitlyn first revealed that she was transgender in April of 2015. She then publicly shared her new name, Caitlyn Marie Jenner, a few months afterward.
Caitlyn then appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair and did an interview about her new identity. She then took to Twitter to say, “I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.”
If Caitlyn wins, she will be making history as the very first transgender governor in our country.
