A 10-Year-Old’s Friends Asked If She Could Come Play Next Door Then She Came Home Covered In Blood, Bleach, And Bruises
Elizabethton, Tennessee. It was Monday, July 19th, when 10-year-old Callie’s friends knocked on the front door of her apartment to ask if she could come next door to play with them.
Callie’s mom Brittany had no problem letting Callie go play with her neighbors since she had spent the past few months regularly playing with them.
Callie left home at 7:30 that morning, but when she returned that afternoon at 12:27, Brittany couldn’t believe what she was looking at.
Callie was covered in blood, bleach, and bruises.

Callie had been beaten by the same teen girls that had been friends with her for months. These girls beat Callie for hours.
The girls hit her with their fists and with other objects. Callie had marks from what these girls did to her all over her body, including on her face.
Callie had bleach sprayed on her and was kept hostage that day in their pantry. She was also dragged around between rooms in addition to the beatings.
At one point, the girls insulted Callie for bleeding from the beatings she had sustained, and she was forced to clean her blood up afterward.

Brittany says that the mom of these girls recording what they did to Callie, before sharing it on social media.
Callie’s mom Brittany took to Facebook to explain what happened to her while pointing out the fact that Callie’s abusers had still not been arrested 3 days after she was brutalized.
Here is Brittany’s whole post:
“I was hesitant to post this but we are on day 4, and my daughter’s voice is still being silenced! Very disturbing images I will not include the other pictures/videos as they are too graphic. The faces are also scratched out as they are juveniles.”
“On Monday, July 19, 2021, at approximately 12:27 pm, I opened the door to my worst nightmare. My 10-year-old daughter Callie was covered in blood and severely beaten.”
“I called 911 as soon as I saw her, and my world completely shattered within seconds. Those whole ELEVEN minutes that it took the officers to arrive, I felt a feeling that no mother should ever experience.”
“That morning, Callies so-called “friends” knocked on our door and asked if SHE COULD COME PLAY.”
“This was something that they did every single day for the past six months. We are also their neighbors.”
“As soon as she had walked in their apartment, she had realized that something was wrong. From 7:30 am until 12:27 pm my daughter Callie was held hostage in their pantry, dragged to multiple rooms, and beaten.”
“She had been struck all over her face/head/body by their fists, and multiple objects by multiple TEENAGERS.”
“Callie was sprayed with bleach and humiliated. The acts were all recorded by their mother who did nothing to stop it.”
“Multiple videos of the assault were shared to social media such as Snapchat and Tiktok. They made Callie clean up her own blood afterwards, and taunt her about bleeding on them.”
“Many other details and physical evidence was collected by officers on video and in pictures. What happened was traumatizing. NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE.”
“The officers were called out four times that evening involving this family. (They were all aware and present for the acts). They even had an officer sit most of the night outside the apartments. No arrests were or have been made regarding the incident.”
“We have not slept hardly at all since then worrying because these evil people- our neighbors her abusers- are just going about life like nothing happened.”
“The following day a child from that home was removed by DCS and the apartment managers had served them eviction notices.”
“But no arrests have been made in the cruel acts that happened to my child. On day 3, I called and came down to speak with the investigators who are on the case.”
“An understandable emergency came up for the main investigator who is apparently holding the entire police report. That investigator will not return to work until next week.”
“Callie has yet to be able to make a statement about the horrendous acts committed on her after begging for an interview I got one bumped up from NEXT MONDAY (would be 7 days after the incident) to this Friday.”
“Callie is 10. Why has she not been questioned the details (not that she needs to their literally SO MUCH EVIDENCE) right away? Why does she have to live in fear after this while her captures and torturers live NEXT DOOR and can move about as they please like nothing happened?! Where is the justice for Callie!!!!!!”

Hours after Brittany made her post, the Elizabethton Police Department released a redacted initial report from Callie’s case.
“I have a redacted initial report attached regarding the assault of the juvenile,” Jason Shaw, the Chief of Police, said in a statement.
“There is an ongoing investigation on the serious and troubling situation. The victim is a juvenile and involved suspects are juveniles.”
“This is a delicate matter that we do take seriously. Our investigators are taking the necessary steps to properly investigate that include review evidence, properly interview, consult with the district attorney, the juvenile court, and child protective services.”
“We want to ensure the case is handled properly for all parties that are involved. The suspect juveniles will receive the appropriate charges after the investigation is complete.”

An update made to the change.org petition that was started to charge Callie’s abusers as adults instead of juveniles states that the girls that abused Callie have been arrested.
“The juveniles that beat Callie have been arrested and are at a juvenile detention center however the mother has not been arrested yet for her acts of videoing everything that happened,” Karah Taylor said in an update.
“The mother deserves prison just as much as those girls do.”
The Elizabethton Police Department has yet to publicly say that Callie’s abusers have been arrested.
