His wife told her that she did not wear makeup, and when his niece continued to ask why that was, his wife had a lot to say about it.
First, she said it was a “waste of money” to buy makeup, before adding that she felt that wearing it was a lie because she was pleased to have the fact that she was born with.
As soon as his wife said that, his sister got upset because she constantly wears makeup and doesn’t agree that means she lies to herself because it’s something that makes her feel better about herself.
His wife sarcastically told his sister that she assumed she could stop wearing makeup whenever she pleased and laughed at her.
At this point, his sister freaked out, and the rest of the night went further downhill from there.
Dinner ended, he and his wife arrived home, and then he decided to confront his wife about her refusal to wear makeup.
“I said it wouldn’t kill her to wear it and I admit I did accuse her of being overbearing about her stance,” he continued.
“She basically said that she never started conversations about makeup but that it’s always other people bugging her to wear it and I said “maybe they have a point and you’re being hardline over something really stupid and you need to get over yourself” and she got upset…”
He isn’t sure if he pushed things too far, but he does think that it’s time for his wife to get over all of this and just try wearing makeup.
