This Mom And Her Teen Daughter Were Sadly Both Killed While They Were On The Way To College Move-In Day

“Preliminary investigation revealed an International semi-truck pulling a loaded cargo trailer, operated by Eric Murwanashyaka (22) of Abilene, TX., was southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a Honda Odyssey van operated by Rebecca Haselmann (50) of Santa Clara, CA.”

The 22-year-old truck driver, Eric Murwanashyaka, was brought to the hospital with injuries, while Rebecca and Emma were sadly declared dead at the scene as they suffered fatal injuries.

“Boise State is saddened by the tragic loss of first-year student Emma Nutter, and her mother Rebecca Haslemann, who died in a vehicle collision while traveling to Boise for school,” Boise State University shared in a tweet.

“We are grateful to the first responders in Malheur County, Oregon, who responded to the accident.”

Emma’s family posted in a GoFundMe campaign that the mother-daughter duo were on their way to Boise State to settle Emma into her dorm room.

On a GoFundMe page created by the family, Emma was described as a vibrant, outgoing, wonderful, young woman who was an “overall amazing person.”

Emma’s family also mentioned that “she lived each day to the fullest and touched so many people’s hearts.”

Rebecca worked as a teacher, and she was the type of person who made every single one of her students feel like they were one of her own children.
