2 Years Ago She Was Shot By Her Husband Who Hid In A Shower And After He Went On The Run He Recently Took His Own Life When Authorities Closed In On Him

La Marque, Texas. 30-year-old Savannah Paschal lived in La Marque, and she had 2 young children named Mackenzie and William who were her whole world.

Savannah was a dedicated mom, and for her, nothing came before the needs of Mackenzie or William.

“Savannah enjoyed quality time with her children, playing card and board games, working jigsaw puzzles, baking, spending time with friends and family, and going to the beach,” her obituary reads.

“Savannah’s friends have described her as kind-hearted, compassionate, graceful, a beautiful person inside and out, hard-working, easy to talk to, joyful, inclusive, sweet, friendly, full of love and a ray of sunshine.”

A year before she was murdered, Savannah had started pursuing a career in mortuary science, and she would have graduated from her college program in May of 2021.

On October 21st of 2020, the La Marque Police Department rushed to Savannah’s home on Hawks View Drive after a 911 call came in about a shooting.

Savannah’s mom Shirley met with responding officers and explained to them that Savannah had some kind of incident earlier that day with her estranged husband Trent.

Savannah had driven to school to make sure her children were ok before returning home and meeting her mom there.

Savannah’s mom walked into the bathroom leading off her bedroom, and suddenly, Trent jumped out of the shower.

He had been hiding inside of it, lying in wait, and he had a gun. He threatened to shoot Shirley as well as Savannah, and Shirley was able to close the bathroom door and start running.

Savannah sadly was not able to get away, and Trent shot her. When officers got to Savannah’s bedroom, they found her lying on the floor, bleeding from her stomach.

Although they performed CPR on her until the medics arrived, Savannah passed away at Mainland Medical Center.

“On October 21st, 2020, Savannah Paschal was needlessly gunned down by her estranged husband,” Stephanie Hill wrote on the GoFundMe page created for Savannah and her family.

“Her death is an absolute shock to her family and the community. Her two children and her parents are now left to pick up the pieces.”

“As such, we’d like to rally as a community to help cover as many costs as we can for her parents.”

“This will include, but not be limited to, funeral expenses and expenses that will be needed for the children’s care.”

Authorities eventually caught up with 48-year-old Trent, arresting him and charging him with Savannah’s murder.

Trent was later released on bond, and he was also ordered to wear an ankle monitor. Somehow, he slipped out of it and went on the run.

A few days ago, authorities closed in on Trent after getting tipped off about his whereabouts.

“On New Year’s Eve, about 11:15, in Marion County, Florida, the dispatcher received a 911 call, basically a tip saying that Trent Paschal was asleep in a van at an RV park,” Deputy Marshal Alfredo Perez said at a press conference.

“Shortly thereafter, police officers arrived and tried to make contact with him and they heard a gunshot.”

“They did not approach right away; they knew who Trent Paschal was. They had run him on NCIC and knew that he was out on bond for murder and other violent crimes.”

“Law enforcement police officers know probably the most dangerous criminal is the one who has skipped out on bond; one who has cut his monitor off; one who has evaded law enforcement right after he gets out of jail because he knows once he gets back in he’s not going to get back out.”

“So, they didn’t approach for awhile. When they did make the approach, they found a white male deceased in the back of the van.”

The tattoos on Trent and the photos that authorities had seen of him matched the man in the van and a medical examiner later confirmed that it was Trent.

The investigation is not closed yet though, as authorities did find two weapons on Trent and they’re trying to determine how he got those weapons.

Additionally, they’re looking into how long Trent was in Marion County before he was spotted.
