She Disappeared In Dallas And Was Later Found Dead In The Woods: Now, Two Women Who Have Been Charged With Her Murder Cut Off Their Ankle Monitors Then Went On The Run
Dallas, Texas. It was October 2nd of 2020 when 23-year-old Marisela Botello Valadez hopped on a plane and headed to Dallas, Texas, to visit her friend.
Marisela’s family didn’t have a reason to be concerned…until she failed to get on the plane home to Seattle, Washington.
Marisela was reported as missing by her loved ones, and the Dallas Police Department began investigating where Marisela could be.
One of the first people the police spoke to was Marisela’s friend, as she was supposed to be staying at their house.
In fact, all of her belongings were still at her friend’s house except for her cellphone and debit card, but she was nowhere to be found.

Marisela’s friend told police that she had gotten into a Lyft late on the night of October 4th, and he had not seen her since then.
Detectives were able to catch a glimpse of Marisela on security cameras in Dallas in the early morning hours of October 5th, but that was the very last sighting of her.
Detectives took a look at Marisela’s bank records and she hadn’t had any type of activity since she vanished. She also hadn’t used any of her social media accounts, which wasn’t like her at all.

Then on March 24th, 2021, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office made a horrifying discovery.

“On March 24, 2021, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for police regarding human remains in a wooded area near E. Belt Line Road and Post Oak Road in Wilmer, Texas,” the Dallas Police Department explained in a statement.
“The following day, those remains were positively identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner as Marisela Botello Valadez.”
“On March 25, 2021, Dallas Police, with the assistance of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, arrested Nina Marano, a 49-year-old White female, in Miami, Florida in connection with the murder of Ms. Botello.”
They also named 2 more suspects and said they were wanted for Marisela’s murder: 31-year-old Charles Beltran and 57-year-old Lisa Dykes (who also goes by Lisa Beltran).
It turns out, Charles Beltran was the last person who was seen with Marisela in downtown Dallas before she vanished.

According to an arrest warrant, authorities say that Marisela was murdered at a house on Kensington Drive in Mesquite, Texas that belongs to Charles and Lisa.
Phone records from Marisela and her alleged murderers put them all at Charles and Lisa’s home at the same time.
Furthermore, investigators found what seemed to be blood underneath a recently cleaned carpet in the home, and they were able to confirm it belonged to Marisela.
They also found what appeared to be a chunk of Marisela’s hair in the black Audi that Charles and Lisa drove.
The arrest warrant goes on to explain that Marisela was clearly “injured based on the blood found at the residence” but there was no ambulance called to the house and there is no record of Marisela being treated at any nearby hospitals.
Not long after Marisela disappeared, Charles, Lisa, and Nina “left their jobs and moved out of their individual homes.”
In the end, Charles was captured in Utah and Lisa in Florida. After they were all in custody, authorities said that they will not be sharing any more facts or evidence about what happened to Marisela due to the “sensitive nature.”
In June of last year, a Dallas County Grand jury indicted Charles, Lisa, and Nina on murder charges for the roles they allegedly played in Marisela’s death.

Lisa and Nina, who are married, were both accused by authorities of stabbing Marisela and somehow, they managed to make bond.
Not long after, the couple cut off their ankle monitors and went on the run. Nobody has seen or heard from them since Christmas, and nobody has any idea where they currently are.
As for why Marisela’s life was taken from her? Authorities have still not commented on the motive behind her murder.
