She Says She Was Rejected From The Bachelor Due To Her Size, And She’s Starting A Conversation On TikTok About The Lack Of Size Diversity On The Show

It started off what seemed like a normal interview for a reality series on love. Cronin was asked about all her dating history, the kind of person she is, and where she’s at in her life. But then, they did something unexpected.

“They did have me stand up over Zoom, take a step back from my computer, and the guy looked at my body,” says Cronin. Then the producer gave her the “we’ll get back you” response.

“And they ghosted me like all the other men in my life,” says Cronin.

Cronin goes on to explain that she is fine with it, that although it was an exciting thing to happen to her, she’s not “heartbroken.” She didn’t receive a message saying that she wasn’t cast because she was the wrong body type, but she has the feeling that it may have been the reason.

Cronin definitely thinks there is a takeaway from this experience that fans of the reality show should draw attention to. “I just feel like we need to get a gang of people together to promote or work towards better body representation in an industry like reality T.V.”

Cronin expresses disappointment in the notion that there haven’t really been enough contestants that look like her on the series, despite her being what is simply an average size.

Cronin’s video on TikTok has generated over 1,600 comments, many of them being women expressing similar opinions. Nikki Delventhal, a former Bachelor contestant from Season 19, even commented that she actually was a size 6 on the show and that it ended up being “terrible” for her mental health.

Cronin is opening up her TikTok account as a space for those to have conversations on this matter and is encouraging people to accept the idea of a more body-inclusive Bachelor/Bachelorette.
