“Pam explained their story and joked with Captain Gil that they should just get married on the flight. For the second time that week, Pam was surprised to hear the words, ‘Let’s do it!'” the post continued.
The Southwest flight crew reportedly “sprung into action” and used toilet paper streamers and snack mix sashes as decorations.
A fourth passenger on the flight even happened to be a professional photographer and captured beautiful shots for the newlyweds.
The whole plane also used an old notebook as a makeshift guestbook and filled it with congratulatory notes.
“Congrats to the newlyweds on a memorable inflight wedding neither our employees nor passengers are likely to forget! We can’t wait to welcome you back on board the love airline,” Southwest wrote.
The spontaneous and love-filled wedding has now gone viral on Facebook, garnering over three hundred and sixty thousand likes and nearly eighty-four thousand shares.
People around the world have continued congratulating and wishing the new couple well.
“She looks beautiful, and he has great hair. A love match made in the heavens…literally!” commented one Facebook user.
“This is what living life to the fullest is all about! Improvising and making the best out of situations that do not always go as planned! Congrats Pam and Jeremy!” added another user.
