“I’m now in a race against time to do what I can to help my best friend,” Sarah said.
Sarah discovered an amazing organization called Live Like Roo, which provides support and financial assistance to owners of pets that were diagnosed with cancer. Through them, she was able to find proper specialists and surgeons to help Koda.
Because the cancer had not spread further than her lip and neck, Koda was eligible for surgery to remove both tumors. After her surgery, she will follow a treatment plan picked out by her doctors.
Sarah created Koda’s GoFundMe page because she is struggling to pay for the surgery, which is around $5,000.
That doesn’t include the cost of further treatment and medication. Although she received some funds from Live Like Roo, it is not enough.
“I have been hesitant to share this information or ask for help,” Sarah noted. “But I’m setting aside my insecurities to ask my community for support.”
Koda’s surgery was scheduled for April 11th, and although no official updates have been posted to her GoFundMe, we can only hope everything went well for that sweet pup.
