His ex-wife and his daughter don’t work at all either. They have been using him like an ATM and living off the money that he thought was funding his daughter’s college education.
As soon as his son told him this, he stopped paying, and right now, his ex and his daughter are facing eviction since they can no longer pay their rent.
His daughter began bawling when he told her that he would no longer be sending her money, and he did say he would help her find a job, but she doesn’t want to work.
His daughter has requested that they meet at a restaurant or at his house when his new wife isn’t around so they can talk about the money more.
His daughter doesn’t like his new wife or the 2 young children that he has with her.
“I have suggested family therapy but my daughter says she will forgive me once I start paying again,” he added.
“After that, she wants for things to go back to how they were. She says I owe it to her mother as we were married before to look after her other three children until they come of age. I don’t think that is my responsibility at all. Especially as I have done it for so many years when they were not my children.”
He doesn’t plan on cutting his son out of his life financially, as his son did own up to what was going on behind the scenes with his money. He’s left wondering if it’s wrong of him to stop paying for what was supposed to be his daughter’s college education, yet still paying for his son’s.
What do you think, considering that his daughter isn’t going to use his money for college at all and that’s what it was intended for?
