“She thinks it’s such an issue that Mira has been referring to the baby as her little sister. Sara said that Mira is my cousin, and I have an ‘actual daughter’ coming, so I cannot keep coddling her,” he said.
But, he could not disagree more. He believes that blood or not, Mira will always be his daughter. And even though he spends a lot of time and money caring for her, he does not care– because he thinks that is what parents do for their children.
Sara did not understand this at all, though, and now, their entire family has gotten involved. His in-laws all believe that Sara is right and that he lacks appropriate boundaries. Plus, most of the couple’s friends have also sided with Sara.
“Even my best friend basically told me that Sara was right when I vented. Apparently, I basically forgot my place, and it’s unhealthy,” he huffed.
In turn, he has no idea what to do. He does not want to kick Mira out of his house at all.
But, with so many people siding with his fiancée, he is not sure if the living arrangement is actually as unhealthy as everyone says.
Do you think Sara had a right to approach Mira without talking to him first? Regardless, do you believe that this living arrangement is healthy? How would you navigate this situation?
