“When I was in the office, I would go into my boss’ office ten to fifteen times, ask forty-two disjointed questions, make a stupid joke and scurry off,” Matt continued.
And while his TikTok is a lighthearted commentary on the work-from-home standoff occurring nationwide, many social media users ultimately agreed.
The video garnered over five hundred and forty thousand views, gained forty-five thousand likes, and prompted nearly two hundred workers to share other arguments against in-office work environments.
“We already have HR issues because of the one guy who gets in everyone’s business,” commented one user.
“The worst part is the people with no social skills who throw tantrums when faced with the tiniest of obstacles,” wrote another user.
“A woman who sits in the cube behind mine is SO loud I can hear her over my earbuds at full volume, and I want to scream,” shared a third commenter.
And one user hilariously summed up how so many work-from-home advocates feel about their coworkers.
“They think you automatically build rapport by being in the office together. I’m like no, I like them way less after spending the whole day around them,” they said.
What do you think about the push for in-office work? In this day and age, is in-person interaction that much different than virtual meetings? Or is it just another hoop for workers to jump through?
