At the end of the day, she just simply does not want Amelia to wear Opal’s dress. She has suggested that Amelia get her own dress– perhaps even one that is similarly designed. No matter what Amelia chooses, though, she said she would never hand over Opal’s.
And, for a short while, she believed that Amelia had gotten the point and decided to drop the topic.
However, when she went out to dinner with Amelia, Liam, and Liam’s family this past weekend, she realized that the entire family was privy to her hesitation– because apparently, Liam’s mother even pulled her aside and tried to mediate the situation.
“[Liam’s mom] said that Amelia is upset about this whole thing and that the wedding planning is already difficult, so I could compromise and make it a bit easier on Amelia by giving her the dress,” she said.
So, ever since then, she has been left wondering if refusing to hand over Opal’s gown was the wrong thing to do.
Don’t get me wrong, she really does not want anyone to wear her late daughter’s wedding dress– and her husband agrees with her. Still, though, after hearing from Liam’s mother, she is not sure if her decision is unreasonable and makes her an utter jerk.
