He Cut His Oldest Daughter Off After She Sold Her Bedroom In His House To His Younger Daughter
When this man was younger, he had two daughters– Penny, who is now twenty-five, and Dina, who is nineteen. But Penny and Dina are from different mothers, so they never had that close of a relationship growing up.
On top of that, even though Dina always lived with him, Penny only moved in with him full-time after she turned eighteen.
Still, the girls got along fine at home until just recently, when he found out that one daughter was kind of taking advantage of the other.
And it all stems back to his house, a three-bedroom and three-bathroom home that he purchased about five years ago.
At the time, he decided that Penny should get the biggest room since she was the oldest; meanwhile, Dina was given the smallest room.
“In fact, the rooms are exactly the same size, but Penny’s has its own bathroom,” he clarified.
Anyway, it has since been a while since that arrangement was decided. And since then, Penny has recently moved to a large city in order to reap some better career opportunities.
Although, Penny has not secured a great job position yet. So, Penny moved in with a friend, and he has been sending her a monthly allowance to help Penny cover her share of the rent and bills in the meantime.
“She also comes home every month and stays for the weekend,” he added.

But, ever since Penny left about two months ago, her room has remained totally unoccupied. So, he began to wonder why Dina had not taken it yet.
And while he and Dina were cleaning up Penny’s old room before some friends visited, he decided to broach the topic. He suggested that Dina take Penny’s room, and then they could use Dina’s old room as a simpler guest room.
However, Dina’s response to that totally caught him off guard.
“Oh, I will get it next week. I paid for everything already,” Dina said.
He was obviously confused and asked what the heck she was talking about. But then, he learned that Penny had apparently charged Dina for a bedroom in his house and said he was okay with it.
Moreover, Dina apparently had to pay three and a half times more than the allowance that Penny was already given each month.
This seriously pissed him off for various reasons. First of all, Penny does not live at his house anymore and has no right to sell rooms she does not own.
And more importantly, Dina had worked hard at her part-time jobs to grow a decent savings. So now, it has all been blown on Penny’s room.
And this situation actually infuriated him so much that he decided to call Penny about it. But, even though he tried to keep his cool, he ended up basically just freaking out.
What really pushed him over the edge was when Penny claimed that Dina getting her old room would somehow affect her.
More specifically, Penny believes she will be missing out on a “good room” during her once-a-month visits or if she decides to move back home in the future.
He really did not care about the room at that point, though, since it was more about Dina spending her hard-earned money on something that should have been up to him. So, he ultimately demanded that Penny pay Dina back the money.
However, he then learned that Penny had supposedly already spent all of Dina’s money on something else. So, he was forced to give Penny an ultimatum.
“I said that the room would be Dina’s since she had manipulated her sister by saying I was fine with it and that I was not going to continue helping financially since she had already received Dina’s money,” he explained.
“I also said she would not be welcome at home until she returned the full amount to her sister. Only then might I think about helping again.”
And if you could not have guessed it, this did not go over well with Penny. Instead, she started hysterically crying, accusing him of being an extremist and claiming that she really needed his financial help– because, apparently, her mother was not able to provide any assistance.
Then, Penny also said that the room could officially be Dina’s and explained how she had only asked Dina to pay because she really needed the money.
Still, he refused to give in and ended the conversation there. Afterward, though, Penny apparently told her mother– and his ex– about the entire situation, and his ex started harassing him, too.
In fact, his ex is claiming that he is a total jerk and went way too far in cutting off Penny. So now, he has been left wondering if maybe his ex is right.
