Her Mother Took Back Her Stepdad, Who Ran Off With All Of Their Savings And Left Them In Massive Debt For A Second Time, So She Called Her Mom A Fool
When this twenty-five-year-old woman was just seven, her mother met and married her stepdad– who her mother thought was the love of her life.
Her mom ended up having two daughters– who are now sixteen and ten– with her stepdad. And for a short while, her family was quite well off.
But then, just two months after she graduated from high school, her mother informed her that her stepdad had run away from the family. On top of that, he had left her mother saddled with a massive debt from gambling.
“He also took our family savings and even got my college fund,” she revealed.
“My mom had to give up so many things so that she could pay some of the debt since threats were thrown at my sisters.”
And even though she was only sixteen at the time, she was also forced to completely alter her life plans due to her stepdad. She actually postponed going to college for a full two years just to work and help support her family.
Then, she was offered a scholarship from a rural state university and decided to jump on the opportunity.
She worked hard in school, secured her degree, and graduated with a high GPA– even though she had to juggle her classwork and studying with working multiple part-time jobs.
Last year, though, she became so burnt out from constantly working that she decided to resign from her full-time job and take a break. After all, she was just feeling really unhealthy and needed to take a rest.

And at the time, she entrusted her savings account to her mother.
“I told her to use it for emergencies and went home to my relatives’ home– a twelve-hour drive away– to stay with them as I am uncomfortable in our house,” she recalled.
Just last week, though, she received an emotional call from her mother and learned that the unthinkable had happened.
Apparently, her stepdad had shown up last May and begged for her mother’s forgiveness. And shockingly, her mother and sisters took her stepdad back because they claimed he was “still their father.”
But her mother and sisters knew that she would be angry they had forgiven her stepdad, so they kept the entire thing a secret. Still, though, that was not even the worst part of the story.
Instead, she actually learned that her stepdad left again last month– and he took all of his mother’s money plus her personal savings with him for a second time.
Her mother admitted to giving her stepdad the savings because he claimed he was going to use it for a business. Obviously, though, that was not the case.
Anyway, she was understandably furious. She had saved up enough money to put her sisters through college as well as move into a new place, and she could not believe all of her hard-earned money was just gone.
So, while speaking on the phone with her mother, all of her pent-up emotions from over the years finally exploded, and she screamed at her.
“I asked how my mom could do this and told her how much of a fool she is,” she explained.
She also asked her mother if ruining her own life was not enough– because now, her sisters would have no chance at a better life just because her mother acted like “a lovesick fool.”
Then, she hung up the phone on her mother and has not spoken to her ever since that conversation. However, she has spoken to one of her sisters– who claimed that their mother said she was really rude on the phone. Her sister also kind of agreed with her mother but still believed she had a right to deliver the “wake-up call.”
Regardless, though, she is at a total loss about what to do now. She has been left with no money and has people threatening to sue her family if they do not start paying back her stepdad’s debts.
She is also still out of work because there is a lack of opportunities in her field right now, and her next work contract does not start until December.
“I am terrified, exhausted, and in dire need of money. I want to cry, and I need help because I just want to tap out already,” she vented.
She also cannot get over her mother’s actions and admits that she still wants to berate her mother for allowing a man to screw them over twice.
Despite all of these distraught feelings, though, she still kind of feels bad for calling her mother a fool and has been wondering whether that was the wrong thing to do or not.
Can you understand why her mother and sisters wanted to take her stepdad back or not? Do you believe her mother is at fault, too, for allowing her stepdad to have access to her savings? If you were in her shoes, how would you have handled hearing this tragic news?
