On your wedding day, it’s not a good idea to wear some questionable shoes. But this bride didn’t get that memo and seemed to want to appear taller next to her prince charming on their big day.
Over the weekend, this woman attended a wedding for a friend of her family. The wedding was literally in a garden, and she says the day would have been magical if the bride hadn’t chosen ridiculous shoes to wear outside on the lawn.
“The bride is really short, like 5’2” tops, and the groom is like 6’4”. Apparently, the bride wanted to be on the same level as the groom, so she wore what I can only describe as ‘[crazy] heels,'” she explained.
The heels the bride had on were 7 inches high. The bride was planning to wear flats in the garden and the platform heels for the actual ceremony.
“Now these shoes are problematic under the best of circumstances (walking on pavement or indoors), but the ceremony was taking place in a grassy area. With a fabric-covered walkway,” she added.
The bride came down the aisle, except she was totally teetering. As she made her way past her guests, the bride’s ankle actually gave out, and she fell down.
“Everyone freaked when the bride didn’t get up right away. Eventually, they got a chair, and she and the groom did the ceremony seated,” she said.
“To her credit, the bride stayed for the whole ceremony and reception, but they didn’t do the first dance or father/daughter dance.”
Well, it turns out that the bride broke her ankle in those insane platform heels, and her mom told her after the bride’s mom filled her in on the details.

The newlyweds had to then postpone their honeymoon because the bride is no longer mobile and obviously can’t go anywhere on that broken ankle.
She’s now warning anyone who wants to do a garden wedding to please, please wear flats instead of heels for safety’s sake.
Well, I did wear heels, and I had an outdoor wedding on grass, but I made sure my heels were super chunky so I couldn’t get stuck or go down like a sack of potatoes.
I mean, rule number one for life should be to never wear shoes you can’t walk in, because that’s just a hardship. And if you are getting married, make sure you do a trial run first during your rehearsal or something to make sure walking is a breeze.
All of that aside, I do feel terrible for the bride, who probably just wanted to put on some really amazing shoes and try to be closer to her sky-high husband.
What do you think of that?
