For whatever reason, though, her family has taken this upset out on her. In fact, they are really angry that she would accept the role of maid of honor or even want to be her sister’s bridesmaid; meanwhile, they will likely not even be invited to the event.
Her dad even accused her of being really insensitive and inconsiderate and claimed that she should not be “going along” with someone who “rejects” their family.
So now, with basically her entire family against her decision, she has been left wondering if agreeing to be her sister’s maid of honor actually makes her a real jerk or not.
Do you think it is reasonable for her sister not to want to be forced into a sibling relationship? Why do you believe her father felt like giving her sister an ultimatum was the way to build familial acceptance? Is she in the wrong for wanting to support her sister regardless of any family strife? If you were in her shoes, how would you handle this situation?
