She’s Listing Some Hilarious Things She Never Thought About Before Having A Baby

Do you want to have a baby at some point in your life? Of course, despite the joys of having a baby, many people can assume the natural struggles that come with having a baby as well.
But what about the random little conflicts that you face as a parent that nobody talks about? Did you consider these before deciding to have a baby?
TikToker Emily Haswell,@myemtv, broke down the bizarre things that she was never told about when having a baby.
“These are some things that I didn’t think about before having a baby that I urge you to consider,” Emily explained.
In her video, Emily goes through a list of six things that took her by surprise. Some of them are even uncomfortable to think about, like the first one about her own mother that she wasn’t prepared for.
“If you are having a baby with a dude, you will have to hear your mom call him ‘daddy,'” she said.
Next, Emily mentions how your own personal difficulties as the parent and the adult can get in the way: you can’t have any time alone if you’re the only one with the baby.
“If you have a bathroom emergency while you’re alone with your baby, um, your baby has to come with you because they can’t survive,” she pointed out. “And they just watch you with dead eyes as you fight for your life.”
Similar to the last one, there is also the issue of being sick which appears when you’re trying to take care of a baby at the same time. You need personal space and privacy that you can’t have.

Also, in-laws, and even your own family, can often be a pain. You need some time away from them to live your own separate life. Once you have a baby, that all changes, according to Emily.
Essentially, having the grandchild means that the grandparents are going to appear more.
“Just know that your family’s going to be around a lot more,” she said.
Given that you are now responsible for another whole life besides your own, you are also responsible for their hygiene–and not just their baths.
“You are responsible for clipping your baby’s fingernails,” Emily added. “Even though it feels like something that a surgeon should be doing.”
Finally, on the subject of responsibility, you are going to feel responsible to look out for everything that they do or try to say, according to Emily.
“The majority of noises that babies make sound like they’re not long for this world,” she mentioned. “In reality, they’re just tiny scientists, you are the test subject and the experiment is how many times a day can they make you go, ‘IS SHE OKAY?’.”
This video resonated with so many of her viewers, who said the exact same things that she did.
“I’ve never clipped my son’s nails because I watched my mom accidentally cut off my brother’s fingertip as a baby. My husband does it every time,” one viewer commented.
Another one wrote, “I will never recover from my mom calling my fiance daddy.”
But more than anything, the first tip that she gave really stuck in everyone’s minds.
One commenter wrote, “Today my baby pooped while I did, and it felt like family bonding time.”
“I really felt that bathroom emergency one…especially the dead eyes part,” another viewer wrote.
Nevertheless, the important thing to remember is to thoroughly take into consideration all of the pros and cons of having kids. Then, if you decide it’s for you, go for it. Just do your research first.
