“Constantly looking at me while pretending that he wasn’t,” she added.
So, at that point, she decided to text her mom and ask for a ride home. She also got up to go speak with the library staff, but upon approaching a staff member, she found that the library manager was already there waiting for her.
The manager then rushed her into the office– because apparently, the man had been quickly following her all the way to the staff area.
And once alone with the manager, she learned that another library patron had noticed the way the man had been looking at her and even called it predatory. So, that patron reported it to the library staff.
Thankfully, she did act wisely in that situation by finding a manager and got home safe and sound. But, the situation was still quite alarming, and she believed the man might have been trying to drug her.
“It is pretty scary that this isn’t the only time I have been harassed or threatened in public, and I am not very far into my teens!” she revealed.
Have you ever found yourself in a similar situation? Do you think the man was trying to harm her? Did she do the right thing by remaining aware and seeking help? If you had been in her shoes, how would you have handled this?
