“I love the show, and I don’t even have children,” says Matt Mitchell in a TikTok video, breaking down what he’s heard some adult Bluey fans say. “It’s just so wholesome and refreshing, you know?”
When I first saw clips of the show on my TikTok feed, I thought it was silly to see so many adults freaking out over a show that I had initially thought was intended for kids only.
But after watching clips from some of the series’ most touching and hilarious episodes, like Baby Race and Bus, I can confidently say that I love it too.
TikTok is becoming the biggest platform for sharing Bluey content, as viewers worldwide share clips from the series and use audio clips from the show that make them laugh.
The theme song, written by composer Joff Bush has even trended on the app, with users filming themselves dancing to it along with their family members.
“I hope the show does impart that it’s not just frivolous, it’s not a waste of time, and that play across all ages (but particularly that age) is an incredibly fascinating thing to think about,” Joe told The Independent.
The Walt Disney Company acquired the rights to Bluey in 2019, and it is now in its third season streaming on Disney+. So the next time you’re bored or want to see what the hype is all about, maybe throw it on and see what you think.
