When he asked her if she could watch his daughter that night, she said he could drop her off at her house, but she would have to be picked up by 10:00 pm because she really needed her sleep.
Frustrated, he responded to her in a sarcastic tone, saying, “Most babies are born sleep-trained and go to sleep at around 10:00 pm, so you having a baby soon won’t pose any problem for you.”
She got upset and told him he was making her feel bad for needing to prioritize her sleep as an expecting mother.
He told her he was hurt that she couldn’t give up an hour and a half of sleep for one night, considering how much he had done for her in the past.
After reflecting on their phone call, he understands he did not need to be snarky with his sister. However, he still thinks she should have said yes.
Do you think his pregnant sister owed him that night of babysitting?
