She Reprimanded Her Daughter’s Friend For Throwing Out A Burnt Piece Of Toast At A Sleepover, And The Little Girl’s Mom Claimed That Was Completely Unacceptable

So, while she understood that the girls were just kids, she decided to talk to Jane about why throwing food out like that was not right.

“I explained to her that this wasn’t okay. People work hard to afford food,” she said.

Of course, her own daughter was very embarrassed during this conversation– which she thinks is understandable given her daughter’s perspective of the situation.

But, according to her, Jane actually seemed to take her comments pretty well. Then, after breakfast, she just dropped the girls off at school as usual.

Later that day, though, Jane must have informed her mother about what had happened with the toast– because she wound up receiving a pretty angry call from Jane’s mom.

Apparently, Jane’s mom claimed that her behavior was completely unacceptable and that she had no right to call out the little girl.

Jane’s mom then claimed the interaction was likely traumatic for the little girl and, according to her, did not take any accountability for Jane’s actions.

So, three people are now upset with her over the burnt toast slice conversation– her daughter, Jane, and Jane’s mother.

Quite frankly, though, she thinks the little girl’s mother completely overreacted– because apparently, she did not yell at Jane or even lecture her.

“And I didn’t expect the children to eat the toast if it was burnt. It was about the conversation and the haste to throw things away,” she vented.

Nonetheless, in the wake of the sleepover, she is now wondering whether reprimanding Jane about the burnt toast was the wrong thing to do or not.
