Thirteen years ago, a young mom went out for one of the first times since having her baby girl. Tragically, she still hasn’t made it home.

Christina Whittaker was 21-years-old when she went missing from her hometown of Hannibal, Missouri.

After a docuseries based on her disappearance, “Relentless,” aired on Discovery+, more people are determined to find out what happened to her.

On Friday, November 13th, 2009, Christina asked her boyfriend, Travis, to watch their six-month-old daughter, Alexandria, while she had a night out.

Travis agreed and dropped her off at Rookie’s Sports Bar to meet up with some friends around 8:30 p.m. She never returned home later that night.

There are various accounts of the last time anyone saw Christina from her friends and eyewitnesses.

The friends she met at Rookie’s claimed Christina had been kicked out of Rookie’s around 11:45 p.m. because she was acting belligerent, and other patrons who were at the bar claimed she was intoxicated. Her friends didn’t leave the bar with her or give her a ride home.

After leaving Rookie’s, Christina allegedly headed to other nearby bars, River City Billiards and Sportsman’s Bar, hoping to find someone who could get her a ride home.

Vanessa Swank, a bartender and family friend of Christina’s, was working at Sportsman’s Bar that night and claimed that Christina had gone in there just as she was getting ready to close up.

Vanessa said that Christina allegedly argued with someone on the phone while she was in Sportsman’s Bar and eventually ran out the backdoor sobbing.

While babysitting their daughter, phone records show that Travis had received a phone call from Christina around 10:30 p.m.

He claimed she had called him to ask if she wanted to bring him home some food and said she’d be home around midnight, but if she needed a ride, she’d call him.

The next morning, Travis panicked when he discovered Christina didn’t return home and called her mom, Cindy Young.

That same day, her phone was found near an apartment complex, Sportsman’s Bar. By the time Sunday rolled around, there was no sign of Christina, so Travis and Cindy filed a missing person’s report that day.

As the Hannibal Police Department has been investigating Christina’s case, her mom and boyfriend have publicly appeared and given several interviews over the last 13 years.

On The Steve Wilkos Show three months after her disappearance, Travis claimed he would never have hurt Christina, and Cindy has gone on record saying that she believes her daughter may have been a victim of human trafficking.

Christina’s family and friends have said that she allegedly suffered from mental health issues and bipolar disorder, which she was taking medication for.

This information has fueled various conspiracies about what may have happened to Christina, which investigators have not been able to confirm. Captain James Hark of the Hannibal Police Department has told reporters no foul play is suspected.

Around 2010, several people contacted the police, claiming to have seen Christina living in Peoria, Illinois.

However, the woman thought to be Christina had fled Peoria before police could confirm whether or not it was her.

The search for Christina is still ongoing today, as police and her community are trying to piece together bits of information that would help them figure out what happened to her that Friday night. A Facebook page, Help Find Christina Whittaker, has been created for people to share any information they may have on her disappearance.

On the night she vanished, Christina wore a white teeshirt with a pink tank top, jeans, and pink and white Nike shoes. She has a tattoo of an angel on her back and one of a Care Bear on her ankle. She was five foot six, weighed 130 pounds, and had curly red-brown hair and brown eyes.

If you have any information regarding her case, you are urged to contact the Hannibal Police Department at (573) 221-0987.
