When someone doesn’t respect your eating habits, it can be really irritating.

One woman recently snapped at her fiancé, who won’t stop eating her food even though she has special dietary needs.

She’s 30 and lives with her 31-year-old fiancé.

They have a fairly good relationship, except for one thing. Her fiancé is constantly eating her food.

She’s a petite woman and has struggled for years with eating disorders. She’s finally starting to get a grip on her relationship with food and eating intuitively.

“For once in my life, I’m listening to my hunger cues, and I only eat when I’m actually hungry and stop when I’m not,” she explained.

“This has led to me eating one to two times a day. Sometimes, I don’t finish it all because I’m full. I always save it for later. If I feel hungry, I’ll eat it.”

She’s also a pescatarian and doesn’t drink dairy milk, so she buys many special products like vegan meats and almond milk. Her fiancé has a very different diet and eats all kinds of meat and dairy.

“My fiancé eats meat, drinks normal [drinks], and eats three times a day,” she said.

“So we often buy different items to suit our needs. However, he always manages to eat my stuff. I brought specialized noodles from Korea; he ate them. I leave my leftovers in the fridge; he eats them.”

Her fiancé’s rude eating habits have been going on for quite a while. She had to sit him down and have a serious conversation with him about how it was selfish of him to eat her food. She told him she’d be fine sharing with him but asked him to get permission from her before eating her stuff.

So, her fiancé listened and got better about checking in with her before eating her groceries. Unfortunately, that only lasted about two to three weeks.

The other day, she made herself an egg sandwich for lunch. Later that night, she wanted a bowl of cereal but couldn’t have any because her almond milk was gone.

Then, she figured she’d make some noodles instead. But those were gone too, and the empty box was left behind. Finally, she thought she’d make herself a yogurt parfait with granola. Both the yogurt and granola were gone.

Her fiancé had eaten all of those items without asking her first. He was sleeping when she discovered everything was gone, but she was so angry that she decided to wake him up and yell at him to stop eating her stuff.

Now, she feels a bit guilty for yelling, but she doesn’t know how to resolve this issue.

“I feel like the little time I do eat, I don’t have a selection because he eats everything,” she added.

Should she feel bad for yelling at her boyfriend, or is her anger valid?
