Is there anything better than creamy, homemade soup on a chilly fall day? There’s not much that could top this.

TikToker Reagan Kirwan (@reagankirwan) is sharing a recipe for tortellini soup made with Italian sausage.

Start by dicing up one white onion and mincing a few cloves of garlic. Next, pour some olive oil into a large pot and add the onion and garlic, along with a dash of salt and pepper.

Once the onions have cooked slightly, add one to two pounds of Italian sausage. In her video, Reagan used two pounds.

She also added salt and pepper to the meat while it was browning in the pot. If you don’t eat pork, you could substitute it with ground beef.

After the sausage has been cooked almost all the way, dump in a 28-ounce can of crushed tomatoes, two tablespoons of tomato paste, and a large container of chicken broth.

Season the mixture with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic salt, and garlic powder.

If desired, you could also drain the fat from the sausage, although Regan opted out of doing so.

Then, let the ingredients come to a boil and leave the mixture to simmer for about ten minutes.

Add a package of cheese tortellini, allowing it to cook for a few minutes before tossing in one cup of heavy whipping cream and three to four handfuls of fresh spinach.

When the tortellini and spinach are done cooking, the soup is ready to eat! Scoop it into a bowl, and sprinkle some shredded parmesan cheese on top. You could also serve it with a loaf of toasted French bread.

In the comments section, several TikTok users chimed in with descriptions of how they personalized Reagan’s soup recipe.

“I saw someone else make this too, I added ground mustard and steak seasoning to mine,” wrote one user.

“I just got this in the crockpot for tonight. I make a stovetop version without the cream and chicken broth as a pasta meal that’s just as great,” commented another.

“Try cream cheese instead of heavy cream, it’s a game changer!” exclaimed a third.

The perfect soup for a cold fall day!?? Recipe: Creamy tortellini and Italian sausage soup: Ingredients: -1 white onion -few cloves of minced garlic -1 or 2 lbs Italian sausage (I used 2) -28oz can crushed tomatoes -2 tbsp tomato paste -big thing of chicken broth -salt -pepper -Italian seasoning -red pepper flakes -garlic salt -garlic powder -cheese tortellini -1 cup heavy whipping cream -3 to 4 handfuls of spinach Optional: -toasted French bread -shredded Parmesan Instructions: -pour some olive oil into a large pot or Dutch oven on medium high heat -add in your diced white onion and minced garlic, salt and pepper -once the onions are slightly cooked, add your Italian sausage -brown sausage (I also salt and peppered during this step too) I -once sausage is mostly cooked, add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chicken broth, and season to taste with the spices listed (I didn’t drain the fat from the sausage, but you could if you’d like) -allow these ingredients to come to a boil, and then simmer for about 10 minutes -add the tortellini and let it cook for a few minutes before adding your cream and spinach (the spinach will shrink as it cooks so don’t be afraid if it looks like a lot) -let the tortellini and spinach cook, and do a taste test to see if the soup needs more seasoning -your soup is now ready to serve! I added shredded Parmesan cheese to my bowl along with some toasted French bread!
