He’s Planning On Telling His Noisy Upstairs Neighbor That He’s Going On Vacation With His Wife, Even Though He’s Not, To Catch Him Blaring Music Past Quiet Hours

This man lives in an apartment complex where the apartments are right on top of one another.

Six months ago, a new upstairs neighbor named Ben moved in.

Unfortunately, since the day Ben moved in upstairs, he has been playing his music insanely loud and until as late as 3 a.m.

This has been terrible for his sleep schedule because he goes to sleep at 9 p.m. and has to get up at 3 a.m. to start getting ready for work.

The first night that this happened, he gave Ben a pass since he had just moved into the apartment complex.

However, the following night, Ben was blaring K-pop music at 10 p.m. He knew that Ben was playing the music from the bedroom because he could hear it directly above him while he was trying to sleep in his room.

“My wife and I knocked on his door and introduced ourselves and said that his music is way too loud,” he said.

Ben turned down the volume a bit, but it didn’t help. The music was still obnoxiously loud, so he went back up to knock on Ben’s door a second time to tell him that he needed to turn his music down even more.

This time, Ben didn’t listen to him and kept the music at the same volume.

“A couple of months later, after reminding him to keep it down multiple times, I go to the office and send a noise complaint,” he explained.

Afterward, Ben called him and asked him to go to the apartment complex office with him to help him fight the noise complaint he received. Apparently, Ben thought that the person behind the complaint was a neighbor across the hall from Ben who hooked up with someone very loudly each night.

For the following couple of nights, Ben was much quieter. However, the peace and quiet didn’t last long. Eventually, Ben was playing YouTube videos, and for some reason, the person speaking in the videos created a lot of bass.

“I call and say to keep it down. He has it at 50 volume, and he told me to wear earplugs. I call him inconsiderate,” he shared.

In the morning, he went to file another noise complaint against Ben, but the manager at the apartment complex office told him to call the cops next time.

While he walked through the halls, he realized that the noise could only be heard from his bedroom since it was directly below Ben’s, and that was where Ben would play his loud music and YouTube videos.

Now, he’s planning to tell Ben that he and his wife are taking a trip next week, even though they aren’t. Then, when Ben thinks they’re gone and he blares his music past quiet hours, he’s going to call the cops so that they can catch Ben in the act of defying the apartment complex rules.

The only reason he hasn’t done this sooner is because he’s concerned that since the sound can only be heard from his bedroom, the cops wouldn’t take him seriously.

What would you do if you were in his shoes?
