But depending on where you are located, egg freezing isn’t always affordable.
“The average cost of freezing your eggs in New York is $15,000,” Brittany said. “In London, I’m paying around $6,000 for everything.”
The difference in pricing for the entire egg freezing process between New York and London is astronomical. London’s pricing includes everything that you’d need for this process, she explained.
“The cost for the procedure with medicine, doctor’s appointments, retrieval: $5,000–and that also included one year of storage,” she said.
“After that, it’s around $300 for storage, so I think it’s still cheaper because I think in New York, it’s like 7 or 8 hundred dollars a year for storage.”
She mentions, too, that doing this abroad means that you’ll have to consider factors like airfare and housing accommodations for about a month, but even still, the cost is less than it would be for just the procedure alone in New York.
No matter where you get this procedure done, there are still chances that it won’t work out. Unfortunately, this became a reality for Brittany.
“My body just isn’t ready,” she explained in an update. “You don’t hear enough about the multiple rounds and the unsuccessful tries.”
Even with that risk, it may still be worth it to hop on a plane to Europe to go through the egg freezing process if it’s what your heart desires.
