She Broke Up With Her Boyfriend And Kicked Him Out Because He Wanted To Let Her Teen Brother Go Into Foster Care
Not long ago, this 26-year-old woman’s father tragically passed away, and she has a 15-year-old half-brother named Parker.
While her late mother was enduring cancer treatment, her father cheated, and the woman got pregnant with Parker. Because Parker was born due to her father’s affair, no family members want him to live with them.
“Despite this, I love Parker dearly. Regardless of my dad’s massive jerk behavior, Parker is my little brother,” she said.
Her career offers an impressive salary, and she owns an amazing condo. Until recently, her now ex-boyfriend, Colin, lived in her condo with her.
While he didn’t pay rent, he contributed to utility bills and paid for other monthly expenses. The condo would be the best place for Parker to live, and she couldn’t think of one legitimate reason not to allow him to live with her and Colin.
However, when she asked Colin about it, he said he didn’t want Parker to live with them. When she asked him for a reason, Colin claimed he didn’t want to care for a child.
She pointed out that Parker is a teenager and doesn’t need a babysitter or someone to consistently monitor him.
“Colin said that Parker would need ’emotional attention’ because he lost his father. I asked if he would really rather throw a 15-year-old kid into the foster system than deal with the emotional needs of said 15-year-old, and Colin said, ‘Yes,’ while looking a bit shameful,” she explained.
Later, she told Colin that she would be Parker’s legal guardian and that whether he liked it or not, Parker was moving into her condo.

She explained that this was an ultimatum, and he could either continue living in the condo with her and Colin or leave, ending their relationship.
“He called me heartless for choosing my ‘cheating dad’s son’ over our five-year relationship. I called him heartless for talking that way about a literal child, and he looked at me astonished and went to start packing,” she shared.
Even though she deeply loves Colin, Parker is her priority because he’s her only brother. Plus, she acknowledged that there are other fish in the sea.
Unfortunately, she can’t help feeling crushed that Colin chose to move out and end their relationship. She misses him a lot, but she doesn’t have any regrets.
Whenever she thinks of the alternative scenarios if Parker had gone into the foster care system, she feels more love toward Parker and less toward Colin.
Sadly, all her friends took Colin’s side after the breakup and stopped talking to her, so she wondered if she had done something wrong.
