Back in 2012, TikToker Rily (@ghosts.in.the.garden) and her family moved to Utah. Their new house in Utah had seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. Her bedroom was in the basement, along with the guest room, a bathroom, and a second living room.

The first floor contained another bathroom, guest room, living room, and the kitchen. The second floor had her brother’s bedroom, her parents’ bedroom, two more bathrooms, and two more guest rooms.

When they first moved in, Rily was 15 years old. She always called her best friend from Texas because they couldn’t see each other that often.

The only place that she could receive a cell signal in the basement was in the middle of the living room on the couch.

She started getting a weird feeling every time she sat on the couch and talked to her best friend on the phone. The hairs on her neck would stand on end, and it almost felt like someone was watching her, even though no one was there. After a few months, she got used to it and even joked about the house being haunted.

One morning, she was just waking up to get ready for school when her bedroom door began shaking on its hinges. It was around 5 a.m. and still dark out.

“I got out of bed annoyed, assuming it was my little brother playing a prank on me,” said Rily. “It had stopped by then, so I walked over and opened the door, and there was no one in the basement.”

“I walked all the way upstairs to berate him and then realized he was still asleep, as were my parents. I was honestly more confused than anything.”

She went back downstairs to continue getting ready for school. But from then on, she would be woken up by her door shaking at least twice a week. She told her family about the strange phenomenon, but they just chalked it up to her watching too much spooky content.

One night, she was going to turn off the lights before bed when she saw a shadow figure walk from one side of the wall to the other. Then, it vanished. After that, her feelings of fear and discomfort grew more and more.

One morning, her mom came downstairs to ask why she had just been in her room. However, Rily stated that she had been downstairs the whole time getting ready for school.

“She looked at me weirdly and told me that someone had been in her room, asking for mom, when clearly, I was in the basement getting ready for school, and my brother was still sleeping,” said Rily.

“That was the moment she started believing me that the house may be haunted.”

Rily began hearing voices and other unexplained noises, but she eventually got used to it. She had friends spend the night, only for them never to sleep over again because of how creepy the house was.

It all came to a head when she was showering and saw the shampoo bottle being thrown from one side of the shower to the other, without anyone touching it. Her mom even felt someone grab her leg while Rily was sitting across from her.

A couple of weeks later, the activity stopped. The last incident that ever occurred in the house was when her best friend from Texas was visiting, and she heard someone knock on the bathroom door.

When she opened it up, no one was there, which freaked her out terribly. After that, nothing happened again.
