This 17-year-old girl has a 16-year-old best friend named Maddie, and they practically grew up together.

Her mom and Maddie’s mom were also best friends throughout their lives, but Maddie’s mom sadly passed away three years ago.

Maddie is such a big part of her family that her parents treat her like their other daughter, and her siblings treat Maddie like another sister. Maddie also is super close to her extended family members, including her cousins.

But that all changed when she caught Maddie in the act of cheating with her own boyfriend.

“Recently, me and Maddie stopped being friends due to her sleeping with my boyfriend,” she explained.

“I walked in on them; she didn’t even think about my feelings when she apologized, so I realized that I couldn’t forgive her, and therefore dropped her as a friend.”

“Even after telling my family what happened, they still invite her to family dinners, invite her to go eat with us, invite her to family movie night, even after I said I was extremely uncomfortable.”

The other evening, she was having dinner with her dad, mom, and siblings, and Maddie was there at the dinner table along with them.

Her family and Maddie were all laughing at one point and completely ignoring her existence. She got so upset that she finally stood up from her seat and announced that she felt uneasy and ignored.

Her mom replied by saying she literally considers Maddie to be like another daughter, and she needs to forgive Maddie for what she did, as that’s what the whole family wants.

Her mom finished by saying if she couldn’t handle that, she could find somewhere else to eat instead of eating at the table with all of them.

“I couldn’t take it anymore; I blew up at everyone and called my mom a selfish person, and said, “I will never EVER see you as my mom ever again; you have shown who is obviously more important to you,” she said.

“And stormed out. I don’t know what to do anymore, I might just go stay with a friend. It honestly hurts seeing MY family take HER side.”

What advice do you have for her?
