Sometimes, it can feel controversial to get married a second time. Whether you separated from your first spouse or something else happened, and you’ve found yourself engaged once again, don’t let anyone make you feel less-than for giving marriage a second shot and doing what makes you happy.
It can be hard to know how to start planning your second wedding, as things will certainly be different from the first time. But here are a few trips to get you confidently planning your second wedding.
Go as big as you want.
There’s this misconception that when you get married a second time, especially if you’re older, you must have a small, intimate wedding or elope at a courthouse.
However, that’s not the case. If you have the financial means to have another big, traditional wedding and want to have one with your future spouse, go for it!
Don’t feel like you have to downsize for your second wedding if you don’t want to.
Correct any regrets from the last time.
If there were any aspects of your previous wedding that you look back and regret, like the dress you wore, the kind of music you danced to, the type of cake you had, or the pictures you took, now is your time to change all that!
Second weddings are not only a second chance at marriage, but they’re a second chance at throwing the celebration of your dreams.
