Coffee is the elixir that powers our mornings and perks up our afternoons, but there’s nothing worse than watching a splash of joe spill onto your carpet.
Whether it’s the result of a morning mishap or an afternoon accident, a coffee stain has the potential to blemish your beloved home decor.
But salvaging your carpet from the shadow of coffee spills is entirely possible with a little bit of know-how and some elbow grease. So, here’s how to get these stains out with three different methods.
The Immediate Response
First thing’s first: time is of the essence. So, the quicker you address the spill, the better your chances of removing the stain entirely.
Be sure to blot, not rub, the stain with a clean, dry cloth to soak up as much liquid as possible. You should work from the outside in to prevent the stain from spreading.
Also, avoid using colored cloths or sponges, as they might transfer dye onto your carpet, adding insult to injury.
Method 1: Dish Soap And Warm Water
For a simple and effective cleaning method, mix two cups of warm water with one tablespoon of liquid dish soap.
