A Dogsitter Lost Her Beloved Dog After She Left For A Six-Night Trip To Florida, So She Flew Home To Look For Her Pup

It seems that a growing number of dogs have been subjected to improper care while being looked after by pet sitters from a service that provides pet parents with sitters and dog walkers.
Many people have reported horror stories of their dogs going missing or even being found dead while with the company’s sitters.
A grieving pet owner named Eira (@ultraeira) has taken to TikTok for help after a dog sitter from the company lost her beloved dog.
So, Eira had booked six nights, from February 28th to March 5th, with a sitter named Tracy for her dog, Peppa.
In her video, she posted screenshots of their text messages that documented everything that had occurred during their interactions.
Tracy claimed to have 30 years of experience. She was a veterinarian for five years and was a former dog trainer. Before booking with Tracy, Eira expressed her concerns over Peppa’s tendency to escape.
Tracy reassured her, saying that her yard was under constant supervision and that it was also fully secured with five-foot-high fencing.
Her profile stated that she was located near downtown Dallas in the Bishop Arts District. However, she later told Eira that she was actually in Wilmer, which was a 20-minute drive from Eira’s place.
Eira was familiar with the area, so she still went ahead with the booking. She flew to Florida on the night of February 28th.

Shortly after landing, she texted Tracy at about 9:40 PM to check-in. An hour later, Tracy informed her that Peppa had gotten out of the house earlier that afternoon between 3:11 and 3:37. She emphasized that Peppa was still on the property but was difficult to catch.
But the next morning at 11:15, Tracy told Eira that Peppa escaped from her yard at around nine. At that point, Eira decided to catch a flight home to look for her dog.
Tracy sent her address, which was when Eira learned that she wasn’t in Wilmer. She was in Fairfield, an hour and a half from where Eira lived.
When she arrived on March 1st at 4:15 AM, she searched the area for two hours with flashlights. She noticed that Tracy’s place looked nothing like the pictures she had posted online.
“There were more than 15 dogs, and some in makeshift kennels and others roaming around. The fence was easily escapable,” Eira said.
Tracy also refused to help with the search. Initially, she offered to print flyers but changed her mind when she found out it would cost her $77.
After searching for 12 hours around the neighborhood, Eira returned the next day with trained canine sniffers to track down her dog. That was when Tracy became upset about her being on the property.
She screamed at Eira over the phone for disturbing her business and the entire neighborhood. She would not let Eira into the area where her dog was last seen.
Twelve days later, she still had no luck finding her dog. But then, a neighbor called her to say they had found her 10 miles away from where she had gone missing.
“My dog, Peppa, was found on the side of the road with her back legs not working and injuries to her spinal cord,” Eira explained on a GoFundMe page.
“She was stuck in bobwire and crawled to me as we were searching for her. The doctor diagnosed her legs as paralyzed and will require a lot of care and surgeries. I want to thank you so much for everyone’s support, care, prayers, and the love felt for Peppa. If you can support in any way, I’m forever grateful.”
