Do you ever get dressed in the morning or look at yourself getting ready to go out with friends and realize that the outfit you’ve put on is one you’ve put on a whole lot?

There are a lot of people online or on fashion television shows that will try and make you feel guilty for wearing the same outfit or a similar version of the same outfit on several occasions.

But what if instead of giving yourself grief for wearing a ‘repeated’ or ‘recycled’ outfit, you reframed your thinking and began calling it your ‘signature outfit?’

If there’s a specific outfit or outfit formula that you love and makes you feel good, you should consider making it your signature outfit.

For instance, I’m a sucker for a black top, blue jeans, and some black boots with gold jewelry. I always wear that outfit and find little ways to spice it up whenever I can. Therefore, I consider it to be my signature outfit.

Identifying this kind of outfit in your wardrobe is actually very beneficial. Why? One of the best ways to work on your style and let it evolve is to pay attention to what you like and what makes you feel good.

Of course, we can’t literally wear the same outfit every day, and it’s not like you should go out and buy six of the same tops or several pairs of the same pants.

But you can take your favorite elements of your signature outfit and find ways to switch it up and pair it with different accessories.

For instance, if blue jeans are part of your signature outfit, consider buying your next pair of blue jeans in a different style. If you always wear skinny jeans, pick out a pair of wide-leg ones instead.
