When men cheat, we blame them. When women cheat, we blame whoever exposed them. That’s what happened here when he told the truth about what his girlfriend was up to with her boss, and everyone around him couldn’t wait to make a rumor mill out of it.
As the rumors rippled out, he was painted as the villain for refusing to lie about why his relationship came to an end and causing his girlfriend’s life to go up in flames. And is that really fair?
This man spent the last three years with his ex, P, but eight months ago, she received a promotion and turned into a different woman seemingly overnight.
P began making thousands of dollars more than him with her new title, and she started to treat him like he was beneath her because of it.
Then two months ago, he learned that P had been cheating on him with her boss, a married man. He dumped P instantly and let their shared friends know that she was a homewrecker.
He wanted to beat P to the punch so she couldn’t lie to their friends about why their relationship was over. He figured he could move on with his life, but people started going nuts over the fact that P had been sleeping with her boss.
Everyone gossiped about it so much that word got back to the wife of P’s boss. Five days after he ended things with P, the wife of P’s boss sent him a text.
This woman wanted to know if the affair was a rumor or not, and he told her the truth. The woman did not reply to him after that.
Later on, he found out that P’s boss got fired, as there is a company policy in place that prevents employees from sleeping with their higher-ups. P actually got demoted, and her shiny new promotion was given to another individual.

“And for some reason, that I don’t understand, when all this mess came out to P, her parents, and a few shared friends [said that], I’m the bad guy here,” he explained.
“When literally I did nothing to cause all of this, [except for] telling my friends about P’s infidelity. So, skip forward to now, after almost 2 months, and I keep being blamed for P’s life going to [garbage] because, apparently, she had to quit her job since obviously, her coworkers weren’t that thrilled with her about the cheating scandal and were basically ignoring her and making the kind of comments you can imagine.”
He’s left wondering if he’s wrong for refusing to take ownership of P’s wrecked life.
Well, he wasn’t the one who created the scandal, and P made her bed, so she can lie in it. Karma swiftly bit P, and he shouldn’t be held responsible for her downfall. Her choices alone cost her a career and a reputation; his only crime would have been staying silent.
