Imagine taking a relaxing trip on a luxury yacht, sipping champagne, and letting the sea breeze blow your troubles away. You are at ease and in total bliss—until you see someone get pushed overboard. But when you tell the crew, no one believes you because all passengers are accounted for.

This is the plot of The Woman in Cabin 10, Netflix’s newest thriller. It will make you think twice before booking your next cruise! The film is based on a bestselling novel and stars Keira Knightley, who plays a journalist named Lo.

After witnessing the murder, she makes it her personal mission to get to the bottom of this mystery and prove she wasn’t just hallucinating.

Who is in the cast of The Woman in Cabin 10?

The cast contains a long list of key actors. The anchor of the story is Keira Knightley as Lo Blacklock, a journalist aboard the yacht for a travel assignment. She is determined, headstrong, and complex, which are all qualities that make her an interesting main character.

“[Lo] thinks that this cruise story is going to be very easy, a puff piece, and it turns into this very dramatic tale,” Knightley told Netflix.

“She’s a very serious journalist who initially is incredibly embarrassed about going on a superyacht cruise and writing about these people, and then discovers that there’s more to the story than she thought.”

There’s also Guy Pearce as Richard Bullmer, the yacht’s charming owner and host, who has a secret he’s desperately trying to keep. Other big names include David Ajala, Hannah Waddingham, Art Malik, John Macmillan, David Morrissey, and more.

Overall, they really bring drama, betrayal, and hidden motives to life. With such a long list of suspects, you’ll have to use your deduction skills to narrow down the culprit.

Is The Woman in Cabin 10 based on a book?

The Woman in Cabin 10 is based on Ruth Ware’s 2016 novel of the same name. Even though the book came out nearly a decade ago, the story is still very compelling because themes like the fear of not being believed are timeless.

Lo’s fight to prove what she saw echoes a struggle that many women still face to this day: being dismissed, doubted, or labeled as hysterical when they speak up.

The film’s tensions doesn’t just come from a mystery at sea. It also comes from that awful, familiar feeling of having your truth questioned.

Where can I watch The Woman in Cabin 10?

The Woman in Cabin 10 was released on Netflix on October 10, 2025, and is now available for streaming. It is rated R and has a running time of one hour and 35 minutes.

It’s best watched with the lights low, your curtains drawn, and maybe a blanket to hide behind when things get intense.
