The last thing you expect on a peaceful Sunday drive to church is to be told you’re wanted by the law. Not too long ago, TikToker @britain_k got pulled over by a cop on the way to church with her husband and found out that there was a warrant out for her arrest.

The police officer had decided to run her license plate through the system while waiting at a stoplight. Then, he pulled her over because there was a warrant out for her arrest.

At first, she thought the cop was talking about her husband. After all, she was a law-abiding citizen and couldn’t imagine what she could’ve possibly done wrong.

Even the officer seemed a little surprised, but apparently, the warrant was for an old speeding ticket she hadn’t paid.

She had set up autopay for the speeding ticket, but the payment failed for one month and canceled itself. She never realized the payment didn’t go through.

So now, she has a warrant for her arrest. She ended up calling the court office, begging them not to arrest her. They set up a court date for her and informed her that the warrant would stay active until it was formally served.

She had to go to her local precinct office so they could serve her a warrant. The whole ordeal was a sobering reminder that something as small as a missed payment can spiral into a legal nightmare if left unchecked.

In the comments section, people shared stories about their own run-ins with the law.

“I’ll one-up your warrant. I worked for the city that gave me a ticket for expired tags. I forgot to pay it, and a year later, they came to the city office I work at and put me in handcuffs!” exclaimed one user.

“I got arrested for a warrant for burglary of a habitation. Said habitation was my own house, and I allegedly stole my own belongings!!! It was eventually dropped, but not before I was booked into Fort Worth jail and had to bond out and pay a bondsman for several months,” shared another.

“I booked in a lady who got pulled over, and the officer told her she had a warrant for murder. Evidently, she hit a vehicle, and the person in it died two years before. She moved, and I guess they couldn’t find her until that day,” added someone else.
