Six months ago, TikToker Bradley Cho (@bradjcho) did what many people in their twenties and thirties dream of doing. He bought a condo that both he and his girlfriend absolutely loved. It was a huge milestone. There was just one catch.

The problem is that he is now house-poor. With mortgage payments looming large every month, he cannot afford the next milestone he desperately wants to reach: proposing to his girlfriend.

They have been together for a year and a half.

Rather than delaying the proposal indefinitely, he decided to get creative and take matters into his own hands. Now, he is DoorDashing every night after his regular full-time job to earn extra money to buy a diamond ring.

“The ring she deserves is $6,500, and I’m starting at zero,” said Bradley. “So, every night after work, I’m DoorDashing because waiting for the perfect moment is just fear with a deadline, and she deserves more than my excuses.”

However, reality has been humbling. On his second day of doing DoorDash, he only delivered two orders after being out for almost two hours.

He made $10.25 and sat in a parking lot waiting for more orders.

So far, the progress toward his goal has been painfully slow-going, and he’s questioning everything, but he doesn’t care how long it will take to get his girlfriend her dream ring. He’s committed to working hard for every dollar.

His girlfriend thinks that he’s DoorDashing to earn money for holiday gifts, completely unaware that every delivery was actually one small step closer to an engagement ring.

In the comments section, many people quickly rallied behind Bradley and encouraged him to keep going. Some shared their own stories of unconventional sacrifices made for love, while others offered smart strategies to gain more tips.

“My fiancé bought my ring in cash by DoorDashing. We also chose to buy our house before a ring. He worked super hard and so late after his regular job, and it makes me even prouder of my ring!” exclaimed one person.

“My husband, back when we were dating, and he was in school, would drive Lyft to take me on dates. I love him,” commented another.

“Write sticky notes on each delivery saying that you’re doing this to save up for an engagement ring, and all tips go toward a proposal! You’ll get more tips,” suggested a third.

Whether Bradley reaches his $6,500 goal in weeks or months, his story has struck a chord. Overall, everyone is impressed by his dedication to grind through late-night food deliveries for a future he believes in. It may not be glamorous, but it is incredibly romantic. It just goes to show that if he wanted to, he would.
