I think we all expect company Christmas parties to be tame, stable events where nothing outlandish or unhinged happens. After all, who would want to lose their job?
This man says the strangest thing happened after his girlfriend made it home from her company Christmas party, and he’s so confused that he’s ready to hop in his car, drive off into the sunset, and never return to her.
The party happened a couple of days ago, and she informed him that he was not invited, as only employees were allowed to attend the event.
He thought that was completely bizarre, but his girlfriend asserted that it was true. His girlfriend left for the party and drove herself there, but she was gone for far too long.
He’s not sure why he did this, to be honest, but he made the decision to wait for her to come home and not go to bed until she walked through the front door.
“Around 3 AM, she comes into the house in just her underwear. So I ask what…happened. I was thinking a million thoughts. Did she cheat? If she did, why come back like that? Did she get assaulted? But no, she looks super calm, and she’s crazy drunk,” he explained.
“Also, why…was she driving? So I asked her right away. What happened? She tells me one of her friends threw [up] on her, and she couldn’t stand it. Well, that made sense, maybe?”
He continued to ask her questions because it all felt off to him, which only made his girlfriend mad. Perhaps he shouldn’t have interrogated her like that, but he was so upset.
I mean, it is so insane to have your significant other come home from a corporate event in their underwear and nothing else! In the days since his girlfriend’s Christmas party, he can’t help but think it’s suspicious and shady.

He still doesn’t buy that someone vomited on his girlfriend, because he believes that if that were the truth, she would have showered.
He also couldn’t find the dress his girlfriend had on for the party in her car. He looked. He’s wondering where on earth the dress went, and his mind is racing to the most awful situations possible.
He’s worried that his girlfriend slept with a guy at the Christmas party and maybe wanted to tip him off to it, which would excuse her lack of an outfit.
“If so, that’s demented. And the worst thing is when I ask any more questions, she gets mad at me. At this point, I’m done. I’m waiting for my paycheck to hit on the first, and I’m going to go close our joint account and take off,” he said.
“I think I might be traumatized.”
This is, well, one wild story. I’m surprised she still hasn’t said anything to him about the party after she sobered up, and to be fair, when someone is completely trashed, it’s not a great time to ask questions and get answers. Especially if they’re missing clothes and not concerned about it in the least.
But now is the perfect opportunity for him to just ask her what went down. Hopefully, she remembers. And I think anything is possible. She very well could have been thrown up on. She very well could have cheated.
It’s super alarming to me that she drove herself home after having a lot to drink, and maybe he can reach out to her coworkers to see if they can provide more clarity here, or at least tell him why she was allowed to get in her car in that state.
