You have to be a pretty awful human being to look someone in the eye and vow to spend forever with them, while secretly being in love with someone else the entire time.
So when her husband walked out only weeks into the marriage to be with his female best friend, the shock wasn’t just that he left. It was realizing he never should’ve married her to begin with.
It was only two months ago that this woman walked down the aisle and said, “I do” to spending forever with her husband. Then, they went off on their honeymoon, seemingly kicking off their happily ever after.
But the moment they returned from their trip, her husband’s female best friend shockingly told her husband that she’s actually in love with him!
What’s interesting is that her husband only met his best friend in real life twice prior to this, as they originally met online through a game. She knew about his best friend, whom he always assured her was a friend and nothing more.
A week ago, her husband requested that they take a break after his bestie’s stunning confession, and a couple of days ago, he stated he would like a divorce so that he can go be with his best friend.
Apparently, a day prior to that, her husband met up with his best friend and spent the night with her. She’s utterly devastated and doesn’t want to have to start all over again.
She’s still in love with her husband and can’t believe he picked his best friend over her. Where she lives, you can only get an annulment if you’ve been married for a month or less, so she’s got no choice but to get a divorce.
Her husband is currently staying with his mom, while she wishes ill on him and his best friend, because she doesn’t want them to find the happiness she thought she had with him.

She’s so hurt that she can’t stop crying and can’t manage to leave her bed. She doesn’t understand why her husband followed through with a wedding if he had doubts about her or feelings for another woman.
She does have a therapist and has told her loved ones, who are rallying to support her.
This is so incredibly sad, but the universe works in mysterious ways, and this is truly a blessing in disguise, because in the long run, it’s going to hurt a lot less since it would have been far more tragic to have her marriage blow up two or twelve years in.
I don’t see her husband’s new relationship lasting, since he doesn’t even know his best friend that well. How can you know someone you have only spent time around three times?
It sounds like his best friend is nothing more than a fantasy he created in his head, and it’s alarming that he would pick that. My bet is that he will come crawling back to her eventually, but she shouldn’t take him back.
What advice do you have for her?
