Back in 2019, when TikToker Tracy Denson (@tracy_denson) was in college, she was dating a guy named Henry. To make a long story short, it was a very toxic relationship. There was a lot of cheating, arguments, and jealousy.
They tried to make the relationship work, but then, he got a job at a small shop in their college town. Only a few other people worked there, and one of them was a girl named Michelle. He really hit it off with Michelle, always talking about her and hanging out with her.
Tracy stayed as calm as possible and decided to go home for the holidays so they could have some space from each other. On the first day home, she found out from Henry’s roommate and by tracking his location that he had slept over at Michelle’s place. So, she broke up with him over the phone.
In February, one of her friends, who was in the same fraternity as Henry, invited her to a Valentine’s Day party. She agreed to go with him, wanting to see if Henry would bring Michelle as his date. Henry didn’t bring Michelle, but he did go straight to Michelle’s place after the party.
Tracy caught sight of a guy in the corner, not really interacting with anyone at the party. So, she approached him, and they started chatting. Apparently, he and his girlfriend had just broken up because she was cheating on him.
Tracy could relate, and when she mentioned Henry, this guy’s jaw dropped. He asked Tracy if Henry had been cheating on her with Michelle. Then, he explained that Michelle was his ex.
“This world-colliding, colossal moment happens where we just click on every single level,” said Tracy. “We just ran into the person our ex has cheated on each other with.”
They immediately left the party and went for a long drive. They became best friends and started hanging out. When Henry and Michelle found out, they were enraged and thought it was some sort of revenge plot on them. They verbally attacked them while trying to get back together with them at the same time.
Tracy and Michelle’s ex began dating, then they got engaged, and eventually they got married. They even invited Henry and Michelle to their wedding, but of course, they didn’t show up.

And that’s how she and her husband got together after their exes cheated on them with each other.
In the comments section, several TikTok users described similar experiences. The moral of the story here seems to be, do not let your cheating ex get in the way of finding your true love.

“Me and my best friend met, we were both in relationships at the time. Our partners left us for each other’s partners. We’re still best friends, maybe even stronger because of it,” wrote another.
“This literally happened to me with my ex, but me and the other guy ended up becoming best friends, never dating. Been best friends for over 10 years!” exclaimed another.
